Choosing a colour
How silver tile changes your pool water
Silver is a light, reflective base colour. The water, the sky and the sun add their own colour on top, so here is what to expect.
Shimmer in the sun
Silver and metallic tiles reflect light, so the pool tends to sparkle when the sun hits it and the surface moves.
Cool, light water
Silver usually keeps the water light and cool, often a clear light blue or aqua. Depth and sky change how strong it looks.
The angle matters
Metallic finishes look different from every angle and in every light, from bright silver in sun to a softer grey in shade.
Check it under your lights
If your pool has night lighting, ask for a sample and look at it wet under the same light, because reflective tile can look quite different at night.
Best way to choose: order a $5 sample, wet it, and look at it in your own yard in morning sun and in shade.

Will silver tile make my water look silver?
Not really. Water over silver tile usually looks light and cool, often pale blue, with extra sparkle. What you see depends on the depth, the sky and the sun, so a wet sample outdoors is the best guide.
Does silver go with other colours?
Yes, silver pairs well with blues, greys and whites, and it is often used as an accent next to a deeper colour. Call us on 1-800-866-0695 if you would like help choosing a combination.
What is the difference between 25 mm and 50 mm tile?
25 mm tile is glass mosaic on 12 x 19 in sheets, 4.6 mm thick, and a box covers 21.5 sq ft. 50 mm tile is 5.5 mm thick and a box covers 15.6 sq ft. The larger 50 mm tile has fewer grout joints, and the 25 mm tile gives a finer, more detailed look.
What does special order mean?
A special order tile is not in stock right now. You can still order it online, and it usually takes about 8 to 10 weeks to arrive. Call 1-800-866-0695 and we can confirm the timing for your tile first.
How much are samples and how long do they take?
A sample is 3 x 4 in and costs $5, and the $5 is credited toward your tile order. Sample shipping is free in Canada by UPS and takes 2 to 5 business days across Canada. See ordering samples.
How long does delivery take?
Tiles that are in stock usually arrive in 3 to 5 business days in eastern Canada and 7 to 12 business days in western Canada. Special order tiles take about 8 to 10 weeks. These are estimates, so call 1-800-866-0695 if you have a deadline and we will confirm the timing for you.
How many boxes do I need?
Measure the surface in square feet and divide by the coverage of one box: 21.5 sq ft for 25 mm tile and 15.6 sq ft for 50 mm tile. The pool tile calculator does this for you, and we are happy to check your numbers.
Can I mix different tiles in one pool?
Yes. Many pools use a main colour with an accent or waterline band. Order samples of each tile, set them side by side, and call 1-800-866-0695 if you would like help with the layout.
